A brief biography

Originally a classically trained pianist, Amanda fell in love with the power of rock and the overdriven guitar. But not being one to be constrained to any one musical genre, she has blended the boundaries throughout her musical career between prog rock, blues, rock, jazz, folk and classical. An accomplished vocalist/songwriter, Amanda has written, recorded and performed extensively over the years, and her new solo album INNOCENCE and ILLUSION was released 20 August 2021. Amanda showcases her album & music from her back catalogue in LIVE ACOUSTIC SHOWS, bringing the essence of her songs to the audience in a captivating and personal performance. Her gigging career has incorporated thousands of live shows, performing extensively around the UK with her own band in the 80s and 90s and latterly touring internationally with Steve Hackett between 2009 – to date.
Amanda has also released a single ONE LAST SPIN, which she wrote to complement a film documentary to highlight the issue of gambling harms.
In November 2022, Amanda released a Christmas single AN OLD CHRISTMAS DAY, which captures the magical atmosphere of a cosy old-fashioned Christmas.
In 1993 Amanda released an album as part of a duo - WAZZOON - with Eddy Deegan on synthesizers). Their album "Through the Haze", has been remastered and is available for download on the WEBSTORE.

Amanda also released her Shadow EP in 2010, which can also be downloaded on the WEBSTORE, or you can check it out on Amanda's You Tube channel, or on streaming (Apple, Amazon, Spotify, etc)
As well as her solo work, and touring / recording with Steve Hackett, Amanda also enjoys collaborating with other musicians and features on many musical projects.

Work with Steve Hackett
From 2009 Amanda has been playing guitar and backing / lead vocals with Steve Hackett, joining the band on the UK 2009 tour, and continuing as a full-time member throughout 2010 - 2013.
Amanda features on several of Steve Hackett's albums and live DVDs, and regularly appears as a guest at his shows.
Musical Collaborations
Amanda also enjoys collaborating on other musical projects, which have included working with Nick Magnus, Ivan Jacquin (Foreign, The Raging Project), Temple Of Switches, Sarastro Blake (Paolo Pigni), Stewart Clark, Kurt Michaels, Random Earth Project, The Michael Dunn Project, Martin Haggerty (Long Earth) and others.
In 2015/16 Amanda spent a couple of glam rock years playing electric, acoustic and vocals with a Heart tribute band, "Reckless Heart" as "Nancy".
Harmony For Elephants
Amanda wrote and recorded a track specially for a charity album project - Harmony for Elephants.
The album features new tracks by Steve Hackett, Anthony Phillips, Roger King, Nick Magnus, Nad Sylvan, Rob Townsend, Amanda Lehmann, Andy Neve, Tony Patterson, Brendan Eyre, Andy Tillison, Dale Newman and Anna Madsen. The album features new music donated to raise funds and awareness for the charity Elephants for Africa, an organisation dedicated to protecting the endangered African elephant through research and education.
